Leonard Carillo began directing commercials, music videos and corporate videos, what ever he could get his hands on to learn the craft as a director. After many years of frustration, Leonard attended and graduated from the Los Angeles Film School in 1994 were he began the long journey applying his skills and learning his craft as a producer, writer, director, even a set PA. Leonard continued working on a variety of different projects, again taking advantage of every opportunity as a student of this powerful viaual medium. In the same year Leonard graduated film school he formed the Award Winning* production company, Film DaVinci.

In 1999 he was givin the opportunity to write, direct and produce his first short film entitled “Sanctuary” starring Charlie Holliday in the lead role. The short film went on to win “Best Dramatic Short” at the Nashville International Film Festival. Since then Leonard has produced over nine films including three features with the distinct honor of producing his latest faeture film entitled “Cat’s In The Cradle”. The film received the blessing from the Chapin Family for it’s captivating portrayal of Harry Chapin’s 1972 hit song “Cat’s In the Cradle”. The Directors Cut is due out for release in the fall of 2011 on DVD.

Leonard and Film DaVinci is working on the 
latest project entitled “Crush Of The West”
a spirited portrayal of the west and the 
struggles, hardships, and tragedies to those 
who attempted to make the journey to the 
promise land in the 1800's. “Crush Of The West” 
is scheduled for production in late 2011.

As a filmmaker, my goal is to get people to think, think about their life, their situation, their lack of or their bounty of and do something with it or about it. Life is to precious to let it slip by and not have a proactive part in it".
